Jesus said whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours (Mark 11:24). He didn’t say when it will be yours. He just said believe you have received it. In other words believe God has given you already whatever you have prayed for and it will be yours. Therefore, by faith we receive whatever we asked God for in prayer. We expect it and take it by faith and then hang on to the promise of God until it comes into manifestation.
Stand your ground no matter how long it will take you to see the Word of God coming to pass into your life. Do not lose heart. Do not quit.
Actually, when you feel like quitting, God will not give up on you. This is how faithful He is. I have seen it happened in my life several times. It has been about three years and few months now that I have believed God for my healing. There were times it was too much and I wanted to quit, but The Holy Spirit wouldn’t let me. When negative thoughts would come into my mind, I would hear a song from within me saying be still or I am The God that healeth thee or speak to the mountain, and et cetera. And I knew it was The Holy Spirit comforting and encouraging me. Sometimes a scripture would just come from within me to remind me to be patience without even me opening my mouth or The Bible. Many times I would feel the peace of God inside me assuring me God still has me on His mind.
More than once I dared to ask The Holy Spirit how long I have to be still? This is how bad it was in those critical days.
It is God’s Will for us to be healed. It is God’s Will for us to prosper in every area of our lives. It is better to let God help us in our situations. His solutions and answers are better than any you could find out there. Because whatever God gives you, it is yours and no one can take it away from you even if they will try. It will have your name on it.
Nowadays you can access the entire Bible online, and on your phone. You can even Google a scripture or a Bible passage of God’s promises that relate to your situation or need in a couple of minutes. The point is that, once you get a God’s promise that relates to your need, apply that scripture or Bible passage in a prayer. For instance, you can say something like this; “Father God, I come to Your Holy Presence to obtain mercy and grace. I’m thankful to see this day. May Your Love continue to surround me. It is my prayer to speak well of You today and glorify Your Name. You are worthy of my praise. Father God, Your Word (scripture) says this and that. I am asking You for it. Let Your promise on Your Word concerning my situation or need be done to me. I receive it by faith and thank You in advance because I know it is Your Will for me to be this and that. May You reign in my life in Jesus’ Name. Amen."
And the minute you finish praying get ready to be tested for what you have asked God for. God wants us to believe Him, to trust Him, to have faith in Him. Sometimes He allows the enemy to test us so that our faith can be tested. Please know the tests were not designed to destroy us, but to make us stronger in faith and shape us to become more like Jesus for the glory of God.
It looks like the enemy doesn’t know it. Many times, the enemy will come to test you on what you believe from God to tempt you to quit and give up. The enemy also known as satan or an evil spirit can enter in your mind or someone else's mind as an evil or negative thought to tempt you to stop believing. That’s why you need to meditate on God’s Word in order to be able to stand your ground. The Word of God is our weapon to defeat satan’s tricks and plans. Our faith is our victory. And as you meditate on The Word of God (the scripture concerning your situation), your faith keeps building up. Because when you meditate the promise of God, it will start getting into your mind, and then sinking into your heart. And every time you confess God’s promise (the scripture), you remind God of what He has promised.
Stay with the promise until you see the manifestation. Stay believing you have received it by faith until one day you wake up and see it with your own two physical eyes.
Remember that faith without action is dead (James 2:14-26). Your faith has to compliment your actions. Faith is followed by an action. For instance; if you have prayed to God to help you own a house, you can start window shopping for the house you want. Get to know how much it will cost, the location, and if it is convenient depending on your future plans, etc. Some people even take pictures and put where they can see them every day. Some people design their dream houses years before they come to live in it. While you are staying at your current place, act like you are living in that dream house you are believing God for until the time comes for you to own it. God will show you how you are going to finance or pay for it. God will give you according to His Will.
They say faith helps you take it and patience helps you keep it. Do not quit. Do not give up even if it will take you five, ten, or twenty years to see the manifestation. Actually, you can never really conquer anything in life if you keep quitting every time you get tested or face an opposition.
Sometimes God has His reasons for delaying our answers, but not all the time. So do not be discouraged. Our own doubt of God’s ways of doing things and our lack of patience and faith may also be the reasons for the delay. We also doubt if God really cares for us or if He really wants to help us. After a series of disappointments, it is possible for someone to think that God doesn’t care. And those of us who have done so much terrible things, we wonder if God can really forgive us and take care of us. If God said there is forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ and He loves you no matter what, He meant it.
Sometimes we think we are waiting for God, but He is actually waiting for us to get our faith together.
Jesus said in the world we will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, He has overcome the world (John 16:33). Like the Swahili song by Martha Mwaipaja that says, "Kwa msaada wa Mungu tunashinda ya dunia ( by the help of God we overcome the world), tunasonga mbele kwa sababu ya Mungu ( we move forward because of God), hatukati tamaa kwa neema ya Mungu ( we do not quit by the grace of God)."
In Luke 6:47-48, Jesus also said “As for everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.”
Friends, God is able and He loves us. Stand your ground.
Luke 18:1-8 NIV
Matthew 17:12-20 NIV
But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 KJV
Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? The words I say to you I do not speak on My own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in Me, who is doing His work. Believe Me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My Name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask Me for anything in My Name, and I will do it. John 14:10-14 NIV
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13 KJV
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. Romans 8:37 NLT
“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” Mark 9:23 NLT
Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 ESV
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 NIV
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.1 John 5:4 ESV
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him. 1 John 5:14-15 NIV
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10 NIV
